1. Star-studded performances. Cast members from Broadway and Off Broadway shows—including Million Dollar Quartet, Wicked, ImaginOcean and more—deliver show-stopping performances at the festival’s main stage. Acrobats, contortionists and aerial performers from Cirque-tacular dazzle audiences with Cirque du Soleil–like artistry. WonderSpark Puppets engages kids with playful stories, and students from the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance perform traditional jigs and reels.

2. Music.
Professional musicians perform works by the next generation of Beethovens and Mozarts at the New York Philharmonic’s Very Young Composers program. Kid-friendly bands like the Fuzzy Lemons and Hot Peas ’N Butter also take the stage.

3. Hands-on activities.
Downtown community center Manhattan Youth hosts a hoops clinic and a puppet- and mask-making workshop. Kids can also take part in bubble blowing, kite building, dancing and hula hooping. There’s even a life-size game of chess waiting to be played. At the Montessori School on Beach Street, children can dress up and take glamour shots.

4. Film. At Smurfs Village, tykes can meet the beloved blue critters and ham it up in a photo op to promote the summer release of the animated film The Smurfs. At the BMCC Performing Arts Center (199 Chambers St between Greenwich and Wall Sts), a double-feature screening includes The Second Day, a documentary that offers a child’s-eye view of 9/11 (2:30pm), and the animated film Niko: The Journey to Magika, about a young boy who discovers a mysterious world when he visits his grandparents in the Philippines (4pm).

5. Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day. At this neighboring event on North Moore Street, little athletes perfect their football passes, tennis serves, baseball pitches, Ping Pong skills and more. Plus, sports fans can mingle with players from the Knicks, the Rangers, the Jets, the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Jersey Express.

Sat Apr 30 10am–6pm. Greenwich St between Chambers and Hubert Sts (tribecafilm.com). Free. All ages.
