Best single-item restaurant: Pinkberry
In L.A. they call it “crackberry” for its addictive qualities, and though the tangy frozen treat may not truly be habit forming, just try to put down the plastic spoon and walk away. You can’t, can you? Yeah, we thought so. Good thing for us all, then, that this city newcomer is healthy-ish, especially if you forgo the myriad toppings and simply opt for either of the two flavors of whipped deliciousness, plain or green tea. Then again, the toppings aren’t so bad for you: loads of fresh fruit and cereals including Fruity Pebbles. Or ask about the rice cakes. Not those Styrofoamesque things you’re imagining, but little chewy pillows of rice gluten. Oh, and your kids will enjoy it, too! 1577 Second Ave at 82nd St (212-861-0574; see pinkberry.com for additional locations).
