Today —a free musical festival held annually on the longest day of the year—brings the city more than 1,000 free concerts, spanning all genres and all five boroughs. The local music teacher and performer jams at Madison Square Park. Expect toe-tapping tunes from the band's 16th album, All I Want!, and audience participation. 10:30–11:30am. Madison Square Park, Broadway at 24th St.
Fuzzy Lemons
Catch the breezy New Jersey band as they belt out silly songs like "Skunk in my Shoes" and "Uh Oh!" around lower Manhattan. •11:30am–1pm. Children's bands and choirs

Hungry March Band
Watch the venerable brass ensemble strut up the High Line while blasting jazzy numbers. 6pm. High Line, begins at 17th Street entrance.
Performances at Brooklyn Junior
Rock out with your tween at Brooklyn Junior when the children's clothing store hosts pop group Plastiq Passion (5pm), rock outfit Mindtroll (6pm) and local teen band Toy Sugar (7pm). 5–8pm. Brooklyn Junior, 150 Clinton Ave between Myrtle and Park Aves.
Sing for Hope's Pop-up Pianos
