Soon after it opened in 1913, this generously proportioned space in the heart of the theater district became synonymous with vaudeville. Among the luminaries who have graced its boards are Harry Houdini, Will Rogers, Ethel Merman, Judy Garland, Jerry Lewis, Harry Belafonte, Bette Midler, Shirley MacLaine and Diana Ross. Right now, it's home to the wildly popular revival of West Side Story. Note: Since the Palace is run by the Nederlander Organization, audience members can take drinks and snacks to their seats.
