Pick your own apples and pumpkins in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut
You can grab more than an apple a day at these tristate area orchards.

Summer is done, but that doesn't mean family outings are over. Labor Day weekend marks the start of apple-picking season in the mid-Atlantic area, when dozens of orchards open to the public. We've rounded up our favorite family-friendly farms, where kids can pick everything from Fuji to Macintosh, as well as pumpkins and other produce. Times, prices and availability vary, so phone ahead or you may find yourself, well, up a tree. For additional info on apple picking in the area, visit nyapplecountry.com or pickyourown.org.
