Brooklyn Flea opens on Saturday, April 2

Posted in Time Out Kids Blog by Claire Fu on Apr 1, 2011 at 4:27pm

Tasty treats from local vendors, one-of-a-kind clothing and funky vintage wear—the Brooklyn Flea has it all. Rousing from its winter slumber at One Hanson Place, the Brooklyn Flea wakes up for spring this weekend, moving back outdoors to its flagship Fort Greene site on Saturday and to its new Williamsburg waterfront location on Sunday. In celebration, kids can get into the groove with the Raya Brass Band's Balkan beats on Saturday from 1 to 3pm, and learn some move from the Brazilian Maracatu on Sunday from 1 to 3pm. (A photo booth will be on hand in Williamsburg to take pictures of kids playing with funny props.) At both locations, families can snack on ice cream from Blue Marble and glazed doughnuts from Dough, or browse booths selling goodies from local labels like Brooklyn Junior and Charlie + Sarah. Fort Greene location: Saturdays through Nov 19 10am–5pm. 176 Lafayette Ave between Clermont and Vanderbilt Aves, Fort Greene, Brooklyn (brooklynflea.com). Williamsburg location: Every Sunday through Nov 20 10am–5pm. 27 North 6th St between Kent Ave and the East River, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
