Everyone knows that NYC is diverse, but a new downtown exhibit—"NYChildren" at Park51—lets families see the faces behind the melting pot. Photographer Danny Goldfield's mission is to find one child from every country in the world living in New York City and take their picture. The result is 171 portraits that may differ in skin tone and hair color, but are all quintessentially New York, from the playgrounds or buildings in the background to the children's disparate personalities. In a true celebration of diversity, "NYChildren" is on view at Park51, the Islamic cultural center downtown near Ground Zero. "NYC Children" at Park51, Park Pl between Church St and West Broadway (917-791-0795, dannygoldfield.com). Through Jan 21. $5, children under 18 free.
