Young People's Chorus of New York City is holding auditions
Got an aspiring American Idol in your household? If they're (thankfully) not quite old enough for reality TV (minimum audition age for AI is now 15!) perhaps they could set their sights on joining the Young People's Chorus of New York City. Since 1988, this local troupe has performed all over the country, and been featured on Good Morning America, the Today show, PBS-TV’s From the Top at Carnegie Hall and, of course, in the pages of Time Out Kids. YPC is currently holding auditions for boys and girls ages seven to 18 for its after-school program (fee applies but generous financial aid is available). Applicants sing a song of their choice and mimic basic music patterns. Click here to schedule a tryout. If instead your little one is a budding thespian, dancer or model, check out our guide to getting your city kid into showbiz.
