dragonboatnewsletterThere’s so much to do this weekend, we bet the number of family-friendly events could even trip up Sesame Street’s Count von Count.

On the free front: The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival sails into Queens for the whole weekend. Saturday-only fun includes the Flushing YMCA's get-fit family day and the Weeksville Heritage Center's old-school fair. On Sunday, Celebrate Brooklyn! ends with a kid-friendly concert starring Elizabeth Mitchell and Brady Rymer. For more low-key fun, settle in for storytime Saturday in Fort Greene as Rhoda Levine reads from her recently reissued book Three Ladies Beside the Sea. Or listen to the latest from author-illustrator David Ezra Stein at Books of Wonder Sunday. See all free event picks for this weekend.

Saturday, strap on your backpack and head to the Bronx Zoo to catch Dora & Diego’s 4-D Adventure in honor of the explorer’s 10th birthday (click here for info on saving 20 percent on zoo tickets). In Queens, watch performers make beautiful, offbeat music at the NYC Musical Saw Festival. See all of our Saturday event picks.

Sunday, get your fairytale fix when Galli Theater stages Cinderella in the Bronx, or groove to Max’s Family Band at the Waltz-Astoria in Queens. See all of our Sunday event picks.
