Pachute children's boutique opens on the Upper East Side
We're always excited when we randomly discover a new children's store—and that's just what happened last weekend when I was walking around the Upper East Side. Pachute, which opened earlier this month, is owned by neighborhood mom of two, Sharone Komoroff. "Pachute means simple in Hebrew, my original language," says Komoroff. "I wanted to open a store with simple—not over-the-top expensive—items for the women and children." Some of Komoroff's favorites for kids include T-shirts, bags and jewelry from Atsuyo et Akiko, and old-fashioned toys like pickup sticks and dominoes from French-company Marc Vidal. There's also an impressive selection of jewelry and clothing for mom (Komoroff sports organic pieces from Loup Charmant), as well as pottery (handmade dishes from Hamptons artist Mae Mougin), candles, lotions and other gifts. So, what do Komoroff's kids—daughter Aria, 7, and son, Itai, 4—think about the store? "It's a dream come true for my daughter. She loves all of the jewelry!" 1582 First Ave between 82nd and 83rd Sts (212-794-1260)
